About Us
Assisi Kindergarten – Strathfieldsaye is currently being built. We have been blessed to receive $650,000 from the State Government as part of the Children’s Facilities Capital Program to assist in building a new Early Learning Centre for the Strathfieldsaye region. The St. Therese’s Parish is another financial partner who is supporting the construction, governance and coordination of the Assisi Kindergarten.
Please note that ALL children are welcome to attend Assisi Kindergarten. We are a community pre-school that will support the learning of all students regardless of race, religion, gender, creed, disability, and socio economic status.
We offer funded 4 year old kindergarten of 15 hours per week. We also offer 3 year old ( also known as pre-kindergarten ) kindergarten sessions of 3 hours per week.We understand that placing your child in kindergarten and pre-kindergarten is an important decision, and as such we feel privileged to play an integral role in your child’s learning and development.
Our aim is to provide your child with the security, warmth and joy essential to their development and growth, and to optimise their learning in these vital years.
Our Educators provide programs that enable children to learn through exploration and stimulating experiences in a natural play based learning environment. We aspire to create an environment that provides enjoyable and creative learning. This is achieved through experiences designed to support your child in all areas of growth.
Contact us for any information or a tour of the preschool to meet some of the Educators.
COMMITTEE OF MANAGEMENT
Assisi Kindergarten - Strathfieldsaye is run by a committee of volunteer parents of currently enrolled children from both the 3 and 4 year old kindergarten groups, together with the Director of the Kindergarten, St. Francis of the Fields Primary School Principal, St. Therese’s Parish representative and St. Therese’s Parish Priest.
We are one of the preschools within the City of Greater Bendigo independently owned and run. and thus are responsible for managing our own learning program, staffing, development, facilities and maintenance projects. Our enrollment will be taken through Loddon Mallee Preschool Association but we will remain independent in our operations.
Parents of enrolled children are encouraged to become involved with the preschool on the Committee of Management or another position to help make our preschool thrive.
Office bearers will be appointed at the Annual General Meeting (date to be advised).
